Wilmslow and Alderley Edge Neighbourhood Police Unit welcomed their new Inspector Alan Fairclough on Tuesday, 2nd September.

Alan Fairclough has moved from his position as the Force Incident Manager at Winsford Headquarters where has has been responsible for overseeing all the ongoing live incidents throughout the Force.

He has gained a wealth of experience through holding a number of positions in community policing, response policing and customer service and he is looking forward to a new challenge and getting to grips with the issues that are faced in this area.

Inspector Alan Fairclough said "I am very happy to be joining a very strong performing team of officers, PCSO's and police staff to continue to deliver our aim of keeping you safe and feeling safe.

"Although born in the county, I have served in Thames Valley prior to returning home in 2005. My background is predominantly Neighbourhood Policing – and I have always relished the unpredictable nature of emergency response uniform work.

"The challenges we face in todays' austerity climate is to continue to deliver excellent service with less resources. My teams are professional at identifying repeat demands & tackling their root causes alongside providing an emergency response capability when you need us most.

"Underpinning all of this are the PCSO's in your community. I would encourage you to continue to work with these amazing people – in person or via our twitter feeds @Wilmslownpu."
