Alderley Edge woman jailed for breaching ASBO

A woman from Alderley Edge has been jailed for breaching her Anti Social Behaviour Order (ASBO).

Julie Douglas, 54, of Maple Road was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison at Macclesfield Magistrates Court on 18th July. She was found to have continually called the emergency services without good reason and failed to comply with the probation service, resulting in her arrest on 10th July 2014.

Julie Douglas was given an ASBO in February 2012 at Macclesfield Magistrates Court prohibiting her from contacting the emergency services unless it is an emergency, whereby there is a potentially dangerous or life threatening situation requiring immediate action, or contacting the police on a non emergency number unless there is a genuine requirement for assistance. She breached both restrictions on 10th July 2014 resulting in her arrest.

Sgt Andy Miller said "Wilmslow NPU worked extremely hard to secure this Anti Social Behaviour Order against Julie and have supported Julie along with numerous other agencies to keep her from breaching it. We hope that whilst in prison Julie will get the help and support she needs to prevent her from offending again when she is released."
