A new burger joint will be opening in Alderley Edge in late 2014.
Tomfoolery 34 will occupy all three floors at 34 London Road, the premises previously occupied by Alderley Rose.
It is a new venture Manzur Iqbal, the son Iqbal Ahmed OBE, Chairman of Seamark Plc and owner of the huge three-storey Vermilion restaurant and Cinnabar cocktail lounge which opened in East Manchester in 2007.
Tomfoolery 34 is described as "mixing the fun American classic with local produce, fusion with other cultures and delicate ingredients".
Manzur Iqbal has been granted planning permission to install new windows to the front and side façades of 34 London Road, along with a new front treatment, signage and a canopy.
The plans can be viewed on the Cheshire East Council website by searching for planning reference 14/1405M.

Here's what readers have had to say so far. Why not add your thoughts below.
There is no dedicated burger bar within miles of Alderley. We used to have McDonalds and GBK in Wilmslow, both closed. Rumours of a Tikki burger bar in Wilmslow going into the chocolate shop but I know little lese. So if you want a dedicated burger place, even a fast food chain, you need to go to Congelton, Macc or Stockport.
The healthy side of me thinks this should be celebrated but there is that dark part of us that craves a burger every now and then.
Surely a *even* a burger bar is better than another empty, derelict shop unit even to those who don't approve of burgers?!
Whilst I may or may not share Steve Savage's more sophisticated cravings for gourmet food, I do think that a restaurant that specialises in a specific area of food often tends to do that well so am looking forward to trying what Tomfoolery 34 has to offer :)
Alderley has enough problems and more than enough places to buy
Burgers. We need to have more upmarket places to eat.
Burgers and chips are junk food.
Junk food outlets are tacky, unhealthy places to eat and let our village down. When I first rented in Alderley it was a classy place where i was proud to be seen
Not anymore
We are sadly leaving the village in December after over 7 years. The wine bars have ruined the traditional pub.
We wish the next tenants the best of luck as they are going to need it.
