drink drive

Wilmslow Police carried out a drink driving operation in the area the morning after one of England's World Cup matches.

On the morning of Friday 20th June almost two hundred vehicles were stopped and 45 breath tests were carried out. The aim of the operation was to highlight the dangers of driving the morning after.

Two arrests were made, one for drink driving and one for driving whilst disqualified. One vehicle was also seized for no insurance.

Inspector Sue Mills said "The general feedback for this operation was excellent with some very positive comments received from the general public about the way in which the operation was run."
