Do you know where this peacock came from?

Having suffered from two nights of disturbed sleep, residents at St Hilary's Park were surprised to discover that a peacock was the culprit.

One resident explained "We have been woken for the last two nights by strange bird calls, which we thought sounded like a peacock but were laughing it off. Now today we have seen it - it is indeed a peacock! A very big gorgeous male one wandering about and probably calling for a mate poor thing."

She added "I'm not sure what it eats and not sure who to call."

If anybody knows where the peacock came from or has any advice please do let us know via the comment box below.

Possibly Bradford Lane. A few live up here. Try the two houses up past the school to see if they have one missing.

Nether Alderley Primery school had a peacock walking around, the school might know its home.

No but it's currently at our front door at the top of Macclesfield Road! It's a stunning creature. What do we do? I presumed it had been taken 'home'.

We had the joy of his visit at Beech Field Road last weekend. Kept lot of neighbours amused. He does not seem to be wearing a tag but is quite comfortable around people.

Spoke to a local wildlife gentleman and he says he is one of 3 that live in the Bradford/Artist Lanes area. He suggested not to feed him as not to encourage him to stay...... and off he will go back home!!

A reader from Mobberley has contacted me today to say:

"We have 3 peacocks and they go walkabout at this time of year. Looking for a girlfriend/new territory. He doesn't need feeding, although a few scraps/bird food go down
well and he will return home in his own time or if he likes where he is now,
he may hang around while there is an additional food supply.

As majestic as Peacocks are, they don't suit everyone..... noisy, territorial and have a
tendency to sit on parked cars ;-)

Either way, they are very self sufficient birds and the residents should just enjoy him.

The peacocks have been visiting our garden for around two years now. They appear not to belong to anyone. It first started with an appearance of just one who I believe is called...wait for it ...Peter. But about six months after he arrived at our garden with 3 more, and one peahen. We live on artists lane and the peacocks seem to wander all around that surrounding area. They often sleep in my willow tree.

They are very beautiful, but noisy!!
