Alderley Edge pays tribute to the fallen

The Alderley Edge Remembrance Day Parade and Service honoured those who fought and sacrificed their lives while serving their country on Sunday, 10th November.

Led by the Bollington Air Cadets Band, the parade departed from the Festival Hall and marched along Moss Lane, Trafford Road and Chapel Road before proceeding down London Road to the War Memorial where prayers and the wreath laying ceremony were held.

Organised by the Alderley Edge British Legion, the parade included members of Alderley Edge Parish Council, Cheshire Police, WRVS, Red Cross, and local churches who were joined by the Bugler, scouts, cubs, beavers, guides and brownies.

The Deputy Lord Lieutenant for Cheshire Christine Gaskell, took part in the parade and wreath laying ceremony, representing the Lord Lieutenant for Cheshire, David Briggs.

The parade then marched back up London Road and along Chapel Road to Alderley Edge Methodist Church for the Service of Remembrance which was led by Rev Ben Clowes.
