The above photo has kindly been sent to us by Graham McClelland.
It is a picture of the Alderley Edge Rose Queen Festival which Graham believes was taken in 1952 or 1953.
The two boys are John Dalton and Graham McClelland (known as Graham Moore at the time) but the others in the photograph are not known.
We believe the first Alderley Edge Rose Queen Festival was held in 1922 and a one-off Rose Festival took place in the village in the early 1980's. Now of course we have the Alderley Edge May Fair, with plans for next year's already underway.
