Alderley Edge Community Primary School has been granted planning permission to carry out some internal alterations to the Grade 11 listed building.

The project includes adapting a classroom to create office accommodation, a reception area and meeting room. The existing office area, located on the first floor, will also be altered to provide a small teaching area.

The works will involve creating timber partition walls, fitting new doors and installing low level cupboards and workbenches. The existing suspended ceiling will also be modified, flooring replaced and minor repair works will be carried out to allow windows to open.

Additionally some electrical and mechanical works will be completed, followed by a redecoration of the area.

There will be no external building alterations to the school which was built in 1854 by J S Crowther.

The planning application can be viewed on Cheshire East Council's website by searching for planning reference 13/2203M.
