Alderley Edge Parish Council are looking to hold public surgeries, which many other town and parish councils do.
These are intended to provide local residents with a regular opportunity to meet with members to discuss local issues involving the Parish Council.
Chairman Matthew Lloyd proposed that they start holding public surgeries and suggested the most appropriate place to hold them was the Festival Hall, whilst others felt the library was more appropriate.
Cllr Matthew Lloyd said "It would make us more available. People already meet with councillors on the street, that is already happening, but this is just saying that if you come at this time you will find there is a councillor there."
The idea is that a rota will be produced and two councillors will be available at a set time and place each month. The Parish Council will explore the possibility of holding the surgeries at the library on a Saturday and check with Cheshire East Council to see if there are any guidelines.
Once the details are finalised and a schedule is available we will publish all the details in our events calendar.
What do you think about the Parish Council holding public surgeries each month? Would you welcome the opportunity to discuss local issues with them?
