Concern over needles dumped alongside bypass

A father was concerned to come across a pile of needles whilst cycling along the Alderley Edge bypass with his two daughters at the weekend.

The hyperdermic needles had been dumped near a gate entrance just prior to the Brook Lane bridge.

I contacted Wesley Hutton, Team Leader of Streetscape at Cheshire East Council, who went along first thing this morning to remove them.

Wesley said "There were twenty-three in total and they were used to inject steroids."

He added "Needles are collected very often unfortunately, it is a weekly, sometimes daily, thing for Streetscape. The best number for the public to contact is 0300 123 5011."

Urgh! What's wrong with people?! I can hardly believe people still drop regular litter but dumping needles is just insane! :(
