Early years pupils from Alderley Edge School for Girls have followed on from the recent success of their fellow Junior School pupils by becoming winners in the Cheshire Nursery Art Competition.

From over 500 entries, Ariana Khan, Jessica Hamer-Owens and Molly Ogden, all in the pre-school, were successful in the competition which had the theme of The Gruffalo.

Ariana triumphed in the best in age 3 category, winning £125 for the school and £25 for herself, Jessica won the Gordon Wilkinson Cup and a £10 voucher for being the most promising artist, whilst Molly won £10 for her highly commended artwork.

Mrs Riley, Nursery Leader, commented, "We would like to say well done to all of the girls who took part in the competition, it is fantastic that some of our girls have been recognised as some of the region's most talented young artists. We are sure they will keep up the good work!"
