Pleyel Ensemble returns to Alderley Edge

Laurence Davies

The Pleyel Ensemble continue their series of chamber concerts at the weekend with a programme of music for french horn, violin and piano.

Heather Bills said "The programme includes the wonderful trio by Johannes Brahms and a lesser known but beautiful work by Britain's Lennox Berkeley written in the 1950's.

"This is a not to be missed opportunity to hear the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra's principal horn player Laurence Davies who has performed as a concerto soloist and chamber musician throughout the world.

"He will also be joined by his pianist brother Harvey in Franz Strauss' "Nocturne" and Harvey will team with violinist Sarah Ewins, associate leader of the Halle Orchestra, in a performance of Mozart's C major Sonata K296."

The concert will take place at Alderley Edge Methodist Church on Saturday, 16th February, starting at 7.30pm.

Tickets are available on the door at £14 (students £3). However, advanced tickets can be purchased at the reduced rate of £10, either online or by contacting the box office on 0161 976 5955.
