Mottram Road garden damaged by horses?

The garden of a property on Mottram Road has been damaged by a couple of horse riders who trespassed in the early hours of Friday morning.

Between 6.30am and 7am on Friday, 1st November, two people riding horses have entered private property at Saddle Bole Farm and caused damaged to the garden.

PCSO Jim Newns said "There is one larger set of hoof marks and one smaller set. It was probably younger riders who just assumed it would be nice to have a trot up the farm path but when you get to the end it is all private land. They have gone through the gate and left hoof marks all over the back garden. It is probably just kids but we would like to find out who they are.

"The owner Stephen Napper would like them to apologise for the damaged caused and for them to come along and repair the damage. They would just need to come along with a fork and fork it out which will take a couple of hours."

Anyone with any information can contact PCSO Jim Newns on 07948522130.

Updated: 4.38pm Monday 5th November.

PCSO Jim Newns said "Incident addressed thanks. Cows from a neighbouring field were responsible."

You could not make it up. Hope those cows have been given their forks. They need an asbo.

There was a Sherlock Holmes storey based around this issue. Someone developed a special boot to put on a horse, which then left cow hoof prints in the soil !

Horses hoof rounded.
Cattle hoof cloven (or in 2 parts)
Tonto would not have had a problem spotting the difference!!

God help those that waste police time reporting such incidents in the first place.

I am so glad the horse riders of Alderley Edge are now off the hook and I can hack around again without people wondering if it is me and my steed Cristal and her friend Hamish!

If the cows hadn't owned up I was going to suggest that it was probably equestrian paper boys/girls at that time in the morning.
Anyway what has happened to the cows?
Important issues like this must be brought to a conclusion

Surely the owner is going to beef up security and readers should stop milking this story now.
I suspected it was a load of bull from the offset as it was udder nonsense.
Anyway, a pat on the back to alderleyedge.com for bringing it to our attention.
