Alderley Edge Parish Council (AEPC) will be discussing the future of the Trafford Road garage at their monthly meeting next week.
Following approval of plans to demolish the car repair garage and car showroom on Trafford Road, and replace them with four semi-detached town houses, the Parish Council will discuss the future of the businesses at their meeting on Monday, 15th October.
A lot of our readers have expressed their support for Alderley Edge Motor Co and concern about losing a much valued facility, which has been located on Trafford Road for about forty years. (This has been one of our most discussed news items this year).
However, the Parish Council has suggested that Alderley Edge Motor Co could stay in the village by locating it at the Heyes Lane allotment site, once the allotments are relocated to land off Netherfields, which belongs to Alderley Edge School for Girls.
Members of the public are welcome to attend the Alderley Edge Parish Council meeting which will be held at the Festival Hall on Monday, 15th October, starting at 7.30pm.
Other local issues to be discussed include the Christmas lights switch on event, plans for hiring an apprentice and Cllr Frank Keegan will be reporting on the income raised from Penalty Charge Notices in Alderley Edge.
There will be a ten minute slot during the meeting for members of the public to ask questions or submit comments on any local issues.
The full agenda for the Parish Council Meeting is available here.

Here's what readers have had to say so far. Why not add your thoughts below.
He received NO answers from the Council members - and when he tried to push for an answer he was treated in an absolutely disgraceful way by being ordered by Councillor Keagan to "SIT DOWN", as if he were a child. I was appalled.
I wrote to the Chairman the following day to express my feelings and to ask why he, as Chairman, had allowed such appalling lack of grace and manners to be demonstrated by one of his Parish Council - without any admonishment. My letter was acknowledged by the Secretary but as yet I have received no reply from the Chairman. Woeful bad manners!
It doesn't surprise me - but if you are planning to ask a question at the meeting on Monday 15th October don't expect too much. If you are ordered to sit down - DON'T!
It will be more interesting that way!
Who do they think they are telling people to sit down, what they would really like to say is 'Shut Up'
Best of luck.
Go to this link. We now have an independent body that should be able to act on anyone's behalf if the have a complaint against local coucullors, Parish councils and indeed East Cheshire Council.
Fenton: whilst one councilor may have 'invited a re-seating', it was not put by 'representatives'; I can apply tar to myself, from the same brush, if I wish; please don't do it for me.
Sarah: the 20 minute slot, at the start of each P.C. meeting does allow for Parish Councilors to be challenged. So far as I am aware, no-one has yet 'had a go at' me; I am quite willing to answer any such and indeed have upon occasions approached members of the public, after a P.C. meeting, to explain something (yes I know, I'm a little goody two-shoes!).
Mark: there is no master plan for the village. We are too busy 'fighting/negotiating' with C.E. about parking and the park and cemetery and pot-holes et hoc.
Fiona (2): any complaints should of course be pursued by the public. If its me and there is a preference for face-to-face, I can be got at, twice a day, in the park, dog walking; most people who talk to me are polite and willing to listen, tho' I have been harangued by 'strange' folk upon occasion!
Duncan Herald (Parish councilor but speaking only for myself).
