New shop promises great service by great people

A new shop has opened in Alderley Edge offering a number of useful services.

Timpson opened its doors at 69A London Road on Friday, 8th June, in the premises occupied by a gift store and the Post Room in recent years.

The family run business will offer key cutting, shoe repairs, photo processing, engraving, watch repairs and dry cleaning.

Five generations of the Timpson family have been involved in the business. The first shop opened in Manchester in 1865 and they now have over 900 stores across the UK and Ireland.

The Alderley Edge shop will be open six days a week and managed by Leroy Adams, pictured above, who told me the response to their opening yesterday has been really good.

Yes great news . Now all we need are some more retail shops, so we can shop in the Village instead of having 2 travel. and with more local retail shops we then get our community spirit. we have 2 many Charity shops and not enough of small buisness shops , Hardwear, ect, You would think that East Cheshire could help by allowing either low rates or a rates holiday so 2 bring in more shops ,Also the land lords need 2 help by cutting the high rents they charge Just because we have an SK post code does not surly give them a right 2 charge just what they want,

I had no idea that Timpsons had landed in Alderley Edge - great news! It was only yesterday that I trekked into Wilmslow to buy shoe laces for my son. And to think, I could have saved myself a journey... Best wishes on their new venture!

Great place to get your passport photos, especially for the kids - much better than those photo booths.
