Sweet treats to celebrate Queen's Diamond Jubilee‎

Gusto held a cake competition this weekend as part of their Jubilee celebrations.

Local businesses and residents were invited to enter the Best of British Cake Off on Monday, 4th June.

The winner for both taste and looks went to Mrs Wolfenden, one of their chef's mums, who made a blueberry and elderflower cake with fresh fruit on top, which was described by judges as delicious.

Kim Minchin, Brand Development Manager for Gusto, said "We had an entry from Aldeli which was simply amazing, but we couldn't taste it because it looked too good!

"So we auctioned it off for the NSPCC and raised £100. We also raised £50 from the face painting."

Kim added "We are going to make the cake off a regular thing, and try it again when everyone isn't so busy, as I had a lot of interest from cake companies, but they were all rather busy over the Jubilee!"
