Lollipop Fashion Show another huge success

Lollipop Fashion Show

The Third Lollipop Fashion Show, in aid of Christies Cancer Research, has been another huge success.

The event which took place at the Belfry Hallmark Hotel in Handforth on Saturday, 12th May, was attended by over 250 people, who raised almost £11,000 for Cancer Research.

This takes the total in the past three years to over £37,500!

Organised by Annette Jacobsen and Colin Gillies from Alderley Edge, the evening was held in memory of Ryleys School teacher Mr Paul Wright who passed away in The Christie hospital following a brave battle with cancer.

The fashion show exceeded all expectations in the face of the current financial recession, and was enjoyed by families of all ages from the local area.

Businesses from Alderley Edge and Wilmslow showed their generosity and kindness by donating some incredible auction and raffle prizes including a jewellery voucher worth £1,000, ‘LS Lowry’ framed prints and a Land Rover off road day.

Forty-five children from local schools, modeled a range of clothes from Wilmslow’s ‘Ten Little Monkeys’  and the audience were treated to an amazing display from Woodfords ‘Dance at the Smithy’ dance school.

The organizers would like to convey their heartfelt thanks to everyone involved, whom sadly are too many to mention individually.
