Alderley Edge School for Girls' pupil Sophie Roberts performed in her very own music concert at the school last week. Sophie, an A level music scholar at the school, is a post Grade 8 flautist, sings at Grade 8 and also plays the piano at Grade 6.

Sophie, who is planning to study Popular Music at Manchester Metropolitan University, performed some of her A Level recital pieces on the flute, including Bozza's Aria and Sunstream by Clarke.

Sophie composes her own songs and performs them regularly at the school and local venues - she also has her own website www.sophie-roberts.com.

Last year, Sophie also organised a charity concert which raised over £1,400 for The Mampong Babies Home in Ghana, which was an excellent achievement!

Mrs Goff, Headmistress at the school expressed her thanks to Sophie for taking the time to organise the concert, "It was a lovely concert and it was excellent to see so many of the younger girls watching; they were really inspired and encouraged by her musical talent".
