Children inspired by science week

Image 2

The children at Alderley Edge Primary School have just completed a week of investigations, testing and discoveries as part of the school's Science Week.

The week started with an explosive demonstration from the Chemistry Dept of Salford University. The children then went on to find out about the science behind making ice-cream and fizzy drinks.

Over the week children tested and investigated a wide variety of topics, ranging from acids and alkalis to photographic images to how planes fly to which colour worms birds prefer to eat!

Mr Kinzelmann, science co-ordinator said "It has been a very busy and successful week. We definately have some very talented young scientists at Alderley Edge School."

I'm reading the Wilmslow Express and see the same photo and barely changed wording of this story first published here on Monday. The identical quote credited to Mr Kinzelman is instead credited to head teacher Chris Perry in the Wilmslow Express.

So I'm confused. Who took the photo ? Did Lisa take it ? Who got the identical quote credited to two different people, and which person actually said those words ? (chris perry or mr kinzelman)

If the Wilmslow Express have taken the picture and most of the wording from alderleyedge.com then why isn't that mentioned in their article ? Is it ok to grab picture and slightly changed wording and call it your own ? I thought copyright automatically applies.

Hi Neil, this information and photo was sent to me by head teacher Chris Perry. It isn't my photo and I've double checked that the quote I was given was definitely attributed to Mr Kinzelmann.

Some of the articles I publish, particularly school ones, are largely based on information provided by the schools, so the Wilmslow Express could also have been sent the same information, though not sure about the change in quote.
