Lynne Robinson, founder of Body Control Pilates and the 'Queen of Pilates', has visited the Alderley Pilates Studio in Nether Alderley to help studio owners, Jan and Peter Bowen celebrate 10 years of pilates teaching.
Jan and Peter Bowen have been teaching the Body Control method of Pilates locally since 2001 and Lynne has been a regular visitor to the Nether Alderley studio running classes and workshops for teachers and clients.
During the two day visit Lynne taught a class of enthusiastic clients and ran a workshop for teachers - as part of a programme of teacher development which has included workshops and courses with former members of the Royal Ballet and Ballet Rambert.
She also welcomed Pilates enthusiasts to the studio, answered questions and did a book signing of The Pilates Bible.
Lynne was at the forefront of creating the boom in Pilates in the UK and her name and image have become synonymous with the exercise form. She was joint author of 'Body Control the Pilates Way' which really launched Pilates in the UK and is firmly established as the world's top-selling Pilates author and presenter - her books and videos have been sold in over thirty countries.
Her clients have included Hugh Grant, Pat Cash, Kyran Bracken, Liz Hurley, the England Cricket Team and Sophie Dahl. Since 2009, Lynne has been working with Chelsea Football Club on a weekly basis.
