The Alderley Edge Remembrance Day parade and service will take place on Sunday, 13th November.

The parade, led by Bollington Air Cadets Band, will depart from the Festival Hall at 2.30pm. Members from the Royal British Legion, Alderley Edge Parish Council, Cheshire Police, British Red Cross and WRVS will be joined by scouts, cubs, beavers, guides, brownies and rainbows.

They will march along Moss Lane, Trafford Road and Chapel Road before proceeding down London Road to the war memorial on Ryleys Lane.

Following prayers and the wreath laying ceremony, a Service of Remembrance will be held at St. Philip and St. James Church commencing 3pm. This year's service will be conducted by Father Matthew Thomas, priest at St Pius X Church, who will also give a blessing before the Parade marches off.

A two minutes silence, in honour of those who sacrificed their lives fighting for their country, will be held outside Barclays Bank on Saturday, 12th November.

I wonder if Wesley Fitzgerald will be there, If so I urge all the disabled veterans of the parish suffering under his regime to protest at the way the elderly and disabled of Cheshire East are treated!

Giles, the Parade and service is to remember those that gave their lives serving their country...not to score political points.
