Heddy isn't staying as new owners take over

Heddy celebrated his final evening at Stay Bar and Restaurant last night having sold the business as a going concern.

Heddy Ghazizadeh, owner of Heddy's on Water Lane in Wilmslow purchased La Vina in April 2009 but after two years of running both businesses he has decided enough is enough.

Heddy told me "We sold the business because I can only run one at a time. We put both up for sale to see which one sold first and there was a lot of interest in Stay.

"We have sold to a family who already have a restaurant in the Manchester area and we felt were more inclined to continue running it as a restaurant."

They are now winding things down and clearing all the paperwork in preparation for handing the keys over to the new owners on Thursday morning.

Heddy added "We are very happy that we developed the business and could sell it with a smile on our faces but it has been very stressful running two businesses at the same time.

"I am going to have a nice holiday now with the family, as I haven't had a holiday for three years, and then I'll be back in Wilmslow. I'm very much carrying on at Heddy's and taking all the staff with me, nobody is out of a job.

"I would like to thank our customers, we have a lot of lovely memories of Alderley Edge."

We are not sure at this stage whether the new owners will close the business for some time, carry out any refurbishment work or continue to run it as is, so we will keep you informed if we have any further news.
