Promising youngster wins Hospital Trophy

A promising young golfer from Alderley Edge has won the prestigious 36-hole Hospital Trophy at Alderley Edge Golf Club.

Luke Foden, 17, won the competition on Saturday May 21st with a two round total of 135. He is a junior member of the club and has a handicap of 11.

Second place went to a James Lawton from Wilmslow, who achieved a score of 139.

The Hospital Trophy dates back to 1932 and was introduced to raise funds for the Alderley Cottage Hospital. Today, funds raised are donated to the Captain's charity, which this year is the Alzheimer's Society.
