Corks Out hosts gathering for local businesses

Independent wine merchants Corks Out hosted a social evening for local businesses on Wednesday May 25th, offering those who work in the village the opportunity to meet with one another and have a chat over a complimentary glass of wine.

Over 30 local business people attended the meeting during which Nicholas Ridings, Chairman of the Parish Plan Steering Group, gave an informal talk about the Alderley Edge Parish Plan which was published in July 2010.

Nicholas described the Parish Plan as "a statement of how the community views itself" which "gives the Parish Council a really strong blue print of where they need to be focussing their efforts."

Looking to the future Nicholas said "What we need now is to get a few people together to make this document come alive. I would like to see a group of people who work in the village coming together on a more formal basis to form a London Road Action Group."

For further information about the Parish Plan and to download a copy see my previous article 'Parish Plan sets out vision for our village'.

To follow up on this week's meeting a Quiz night will be held at Grill on the Edge on Wednesday 29th June starting at 6.00pm. This is open to all Alderley Edge based businesses, so if you work in the village and are interested in taking part then please email to confirm your attendance.

Further information regarding the Quiz Night will be published nearer the time.
