The Alderley Edge Golf Club Captain's chosen charity for his year of office was Crossroads Care, which helps carers of all ages across the UK in their efforts to look after family and friends.
Crossroads look after 35,000 carers and their families, and employ over 5,000 professional staff across Britain.
During 2010 club events including the Captain's Charity Day, men's competitions and the Captain's Charity Bunker (each visit to the bunker costs £1) a total amount of £3,000 was contributed.
Nicola Eaton from the local branch of Crossroads Care attended the club on Saturday, 4th December, to receive the cheque from club Captain, Brian McGuire. She thanked the club and the Captain and outlined the work of Crossroads Care, explaining how important contributions such as this are to the charity's activities.
