A Wilmslow based media company is offering two small businesses or charities the chance to have their own promotional company film made for free in an attempt to help realise their full potential in tough economic times.

ClearGate, which has been established for more than five years, makes national TV adverts and web films for large companies. But it has decided turn its attention to helping local businesses in Cheshire during tough economic times.

Creative Director Tom Martin said: "We're seeing a lot of large companies use video on their website to increase sales and it's working. After all with the advent of things like YouTube millions can watch online.

"There's no reason why our small, local businesses cannot do the same. There's a bit of a revolution going on and we should all join in.

"Most companies have something to say and show but when we trawl through local business websites they are often not working hard enough. We firmly believe that keeping business website vibrant and engaging is the key to attracting new business and riding out the economic storm we're currently in."

So ClearGate is offering the chance for two Cheshire companies or charities to have their own company web video made for free. All businesses need to do is submit a 100 word pitch to explain why their business is the ideal candidate to have a web film made. The most imaginative ideas will win.

Tom added: "It might be that your business is very visual; you make things, or produce something spectacular. It might be that you are a bit of a character and would like to get that across to your potential customers.

"You could be a local charity desperate to attract donations. Tell us what makes you special and you could win your own promotional video."

Submissions should be sent by email. Full terms and conditions and examples of web films are available within the offers section on the ClearGate website.

Closing date is Friday September 3rd 2010. Winners will be announced online.
