Today Her Majesty's Coroner for Cheshire has opened and adjourned an inquest into the tragic death of the female pedestrian who died on London Road last week.
The victim has been named as Mrs Janet Terras, a 72 year old lady from Mottram St Andrew. Mrs Terras was knocked down whilst attempting to cross London Road, 10 metres south of its junction with Clifton Street, on Wednesday 14th April.
As one would expect everybody close to Mrs Terras is devastated at the recent news and as such her close family have asked that their need for privacy at this sad time is kindly respected by all.
The investigation into the collision is currently being progressed by Wilmslow Specialist Investigation Unit and if anybody can assist please make contact with Sgt Ian Holley or Sgt Carl Bailey on 01244 613641.
Floral tributes have been laid by the roadside, marking the area where Mrs Terras was struck by a red Volvo articulated lorry, which was travelling along London Road in the direction of Congleton. As a result of the collision Mrs Terras received fatal injuries and was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
A minutes silence was held for Mrs Janet Terras at Alderley Edge Cricket Club on Saturday, where she had been a member for over forty years.
