Key workers inspire children's art

Children at Alderley Edge Pre School have been busy celebrating and thank our key workers during the current pandemic.

The children have been reading a new story by DR Ranj called 'A Superhero Like Me' which talks about all the different types of roles that people do to support our community and how important all of those jobs are.

Becca Daniel said "We talked about nurses, doctors, dentists, teachers, recycling workers, scientists, carers, shop workers, firemen and lots more! Some of our parents sent in some photographs of their workplaces, we talked about what we want to be when we grow up and painted pictures for the display. We dressed up and took on roles within play, acting out at being doctors and policemen."

Once the display was complete photographs were taken and made into a postcard with a message on the back saying 'Thank You Keyworkers, you are our heros! Love from the children at Alderley Edge Pre School".

Becca Daniel added "We then went out into the community to drop off our postcards and say a huge thank you to some of the 'super heros' of Alderley Edge! Our postcards are now available to purchase for £1 each and all proceeds will go to NHS Every mind matters charity that supports young children's mental health."

Email to purchase the postcards.
