Susan Moffatt (BSc.Hons.Pod.Med.MCoP) has been a qualified Podiatrist since 2002, as well as running her own podiatry business she was an associate in Alderley Edge Foot Clinic for 9 years. In 2019 she bought the Clinic from former owner Michelle Buckley.

Alderley Edge foot clinic has been in the village for many years, originating above the old bakery. It then relocated to the ground floor premises of 67 London Road and has since moved to where the GP surgery used to be at 16 George Street.

Now 12 months have passed, and Alderley Edge Foot Clinic is celebrating its 1st anniversary under her management. The clinic has introduced new flexible opening times that includes Saturdays plus late evening appointments and new exclusive pioneering treatments. A new podiatrist has also joined this specialist team as the clinic expands.

New Exclusive Pioneering treatments

Lacuna Method Nail Fenestration for fungal nail. This treatment gets directly to the nail bed where the fungus grows. The treatment involves drilling tiny multiple perforations across the fungal area. A fungal treatment penetrates through the holes to the nail bed and kills the fungus.

Falknor's Needling for verruca treatments was founded in 1969 so it is fairly new procedure to Podiatry. This is done under local anaesthetic. Viral tissues are penetrated deep into the epidermis, so your own immune system recognises the virus.

A Biomechanical Assessment is an examination of your feet, legs, hips and general structures looking at alignment, strengths and weaknesses.

If your Podiatrist believes that your mechanics could be contributing to your injury or pain a regime of exercises, strapping or bespoke insoles orthotics can be prescribed. The assessment takes an hour to complete all the tests necessary, discuss the results and advise on recommended treatment/s.

Nail Surgery

In growing toenails can be painful, sometimes regular treatment isn't enough to keep them pain free. Nail surgery is an option were a section or all of the nail can be removed with a local anaesthetic and a chemical phenol is applied to stop the nail from growing back.
