Get into the festive mood with the Symphony Orchestra and Ryleys Choir

This year, the orchestra will be joined by Ryleys School Chamber Choir and by Oxford choral scholar, Anna Townsend, for a spread of Christmas music and readings.

The programme includes Leroy Anderson Sleigh Ride, the aria He Shall feed his Flock from Handel's Messiah, Rutter O Holy Night, the Strauss Radetzky March (famous from New Year Viennese concerts), Have Yourself a Merry little Christmas, Christmas poems and much more.

Helen Hall said "Our Christmas concert last year raised £750 for The Christie Trust and this year our chosen charity is the East Cheshire Hospice. We would love to have a packed house again and match or exceed this amount."

The concert will take place in Alderley Edge Methodist Church at 3.30pm on Sunday, 15th December. Tickets priced £10 for adults and 1 for under 18s are available online or via 01625 581321

Helen added "Delicious seasonal refreshments will be served in the interval. It will finish by 5.15pm. so it is the perfect occasion for the young or the elderly who don't want to be out too late."
