Last month Alderley Edge Methodist Church said goodbye to their longest-serving minister Ben Clowes, who moved to Harrogate as Superintendent of the Nidd Valley Circuit.

The Alderley Edge & Knutsford Circuit is now looking forward to welcoming his replacement Revd Sue Swires as their new Minister from September, along with her husband William, who is an experienced lay preacher and missioner.

Sue, who has four sons and five grandsons, including identical twin boys, is moving from the Vale of York where she has spent the past 12 years.

She said "We are really looking forward to meeting everyone and pursuing God's work in the diverse communities in which we are called to serve."

Sue will take on responsibility for the Methodist churches in Alderley Edge, Mottram St Andrew and The Welcome in Knutsford.

Her Welcome Service will be held at Alderley Edge Methodist Church on Friday 1st September at 7:30pm, which everyone is welcome to attend.
