The Alderley Edge Remembrance Day Parade and Service will take place on Sunday, 13th November.

The parade will assemble outside the Festival Hall at 2.15pm and, led by the Macclesfield Youth Brass Band, they will set off at 2.30pm.

The Deputy Lieutenant of Cheshire will be joined by members from the Royal British Legion, Alderley Edge Parish Council, clergy, Cheshire Police, British Red Cross, RVS and Wilmslow Lions. Local scouts, cubs, guides and brownies will also be taking part.

The parade will travel along Talbot Road, Moss Lane, Trafford Road and Chapel Road before proceeding down London Road to the War Memorial on Ryleys Lane.

Following prayers and the wreath laying ceremony the parade will march to St Phillips and St James Church for the Service of Remembrance which will commence at 3pm during which the bugler will sound the 'Last Post' and the 'Reveille'.

A two minutes silence, in honour of those who sacrificed their lives fighting for their country, will also be held during the service.

Mrs Pauline Pitt, from the Alderley Edge branch of The Royal British Legion, said "The Alderley Edge Union Club have kindly offered to open their doors on completion of the parade and service to all members of the community for refreshments."

She added "We would encourage any service personnel, past and present, to join the parade. They will be most welcome."

The Alderley History Group and Alderley Royal British Legion will be putting up their display boards in the Union Club for both WW1 and WW2, featuring local people who served for their country.
