Birse considered highly considerate

Birse have achieved a very impressive score in their recent Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) audit. The A34 Alderley Edge and Nether Alderley Bypass, on behalf of Cheshire East Council, received 38 out of 40 beating their previous high score of 37.5 out of 40 in the June audit.

The project was recognised for high levels of community engagement, with scores far exceeding the industry average of 30.75, which demonstrates exceptional performance against the CCS Code of Practice.

The Alderley Edge Bypass project received top marks in four categories, Considerate, Environment, Good Neighbour and Responsible.

The CCS Monitor said "The site complex remains immaculate and inviting to the general public. The report format is far too small to acknowledge the extent of the Best Practice being employed".

The Considerate Constructors Scheme is a national initiative which has been set up by the contruction industry to improve its image. Sites that register with the Scheme sign up and are monitored against a Code of Considerate Practice, designed to encourage best practice beyond statutory requirements.
