The annual North West Childline Ball organised by Alderley Edge resident Michael Josephson MBE on Saturday, 5th March has been hailed a tremendous success.
The ball was held at the Hilton Manchester Deansgate Hotel to celebrate ChildLine's 30th birthday and raised £215,000 for the charity.
Guests were entertained by opera singer Janette Monroe, accompanied by Bolton Youth Harmonies, Illusionist Andrew Green and former Liberty X singer Kevin Simm. The night was topped off by 80s pop group Bananarama and the host for the evening was Key 103's Darren Proctor.
The charity auction saw guests bid on some incredible prizes, including lunch with Her Majesty the Queen, a luxury stay on a private Island as well as places on the upcoming NSPCC Iceland Trek with World Superbike Champion, Carl Fogarty MBE and singer, Jake Quickenden.
The night also saw a pledge to train a ChildLine Counsellor which was run by ChildLine Ball Chairman, Michael Josepshon MBE and raised £20,000.
ChildLine Ball Chairman, Michael Josepshon MBE said "All our hard work has paid off! In the last five years we have raised over £1 million for the ChildLine Service in the North West. This is enough money to train 625 ChildLine Counsellors or to answer 250,000 contacts made to ChildLine. We are so grateful to the people of the North West and beyond. They are all incredibly generous.
"Our Ball seems to get better and better year on year and we are already looking forward to Saturday 4th March 2017! Thank you to everyone involved from the bottom of my heart and of course thank you all on behalf of the children whose lives you have transformed for the better."
