An Alderley Edge businessman who was recognised in the Queen's New Years Honours List travelled to Buckingham Palace on Tuesday, 1st March, to receive his MBE Her Majesty the Queen.

Michael Josephson, who spent years tirelessly fundraising for children's charities, was awarded his MBE for charitable services to children.

Speaking about the experience, Michael told me "Such and amazing day and what an honour, so happy my work and fundraising has helped so many children and that I can continue to help more children in the future which puts a smile on my face each night before going to bed."

Having suffered a traumatic childhood himself, Michael has undertaken extensive fundraising for ChildLine and the NSPCC for over 15 years.

Michael is Chairman of the North West ChildLine Ball Committee, which for the past 5 years has raised £800,00. This year's event takes place at the Hilton Hotel Manchester on Saturday, 5th March, when they are hoping to take the money raised over the £1m mark.

In total Michael has raised an incredible £2 million through his work for ChildLine, private dinners, corporate events and personal donations.
