The A34 was closed in both directions for about three hours between Congleton and Alderley Edge this afternoon (Friday, 22nd January) following a road traffic collision near Capesthorne Hall.
Fire and rescue crews arrived at the scene of the accident near Monksheath crossroads just before 2.30pm. One car was involved, which was on its side with a man trapped inside.
Firefighters used specialist cutting equipment to reach the casualty who was passed into the care of ambulance personnel. The air ambulance then took the casualty to hospital.
Police remained in attendance managing traffic until the road closure was lifted about 5.30pm.
