Alderley Edge Methodist Church will be celebrating a landmark event on Wednesday, 20th January, when students from Chetham's School of Music come to perform at the 100th Wednesday Lunchtime Concert.

Jean Walker said "The popular lunchtime concerts began in October 2004, and have continued to attract audiences from far and near, proving to be a convivial meeting point, as well as offering musical performances of outstanding quality."

Proceeds from this month's recital will be donated to the OASIS Centre, a community day centre in Gorton which offers a range of welfare services to people living and sleeping rough in the area, who are experiencing severe and complex social problems.

Jean added "We are thrilled and grateful for the support we have received over the years. We have made many friends, met many extremely talented musicians, provided a regular source of musical culture for the local community and supported many worthy charitable causes with the monies we have raised."

The performance on Wednesday, 20th January, commences at 1pm and will last approximately 45 minutes.

Admission is by programme at the door, priced £5, and light lunches, charged separately, are available from 12 noon. See our events calendar for the concert programme.
