Local Christian charity, Hampers of Hope, delivered festive cheer to around 1000 people in need this Christmas.

A wide range of local organisations including churches, businesses, town and parish councils along with individuals supported the poverty relief charity to provide 360 Christmas food hampers and toys to families in need. Over 50% of those helped by Hampers of Hope this Christmas were children.

Hampers of Hope founder Cristel Berridge said "It is wonderful that the local community has pulled together to show such compassion for those in need. We were overwhelmed by people's generosity."

Hampers of Hope relieves poverty all year round by providing food hampers and through it's 'Hope Centres' people can access money skills, debt counselling, job clubs, computer skills and basic cooking courses.
