A team of volunteers have recently carried out a survey to identify blocked drains in the village, the results of which were forwarded to CEC Highways requesting that they take the appropriate action.
Speaking at the Parish Council meeting on Monday, 14th December, Councillor Craig Browne said "Now that the dark evenings are upon us I would like to do a similar audit in terms of identifying dysfunctional street lights."
Craig has started to do a little bit of work himself but would like members of the public to help him identify faulty street lights by posting the details using the comment box below. He will then collate all this information and forward to Cheshire East Council requesting that they resolve the issues.
Cllr Browne added "Over the past week or so I have also reported street cleaning issues where the gullies are in need of being cleaned of debris and leaves. So far I have reported Chorley Hall Lane, Oakfield Road, Sutton Road and Chapel Road. I am sure there are others so if you are aware of any particular hotspots please let me know (via the comments box below)."

Here's what readers have had to say so far. Why not add your thoughts below.
Cheers. :)
Macclesfield Road - opposite "The Postmaster's House" (both sides of the road)
Devonshire Drive - outside No. 29
Oakfield Road - outside No. 11 (both sides of the road)
As to previously reported "replacement road signs" and contact numbers provided in late summer, the following have had no attention.
1) sign for Grasmere Road at junction with Redesmere Drive.
2) " " Windermere Drive at juction with Redesmere Drive opposite entrance to park and bowling green.
I am aware that other residents have reported these.
Thank you.

It brings up a map for you to choose a location.... except the map is blank!
It allows location search through street name or post code... except that on entering either, and pressing the 'search' button, it returns:
"No search parameters entered".
If anyone from Cheshire East ever reads this, it's the street light about halfway down the road, easily identified in daytime as it is permanently 'on'.
Oh, and I can point them at someone who can fix websites, as well.
But can we please have some feedback afterwards? 'cos if no-one tells us hoe effective (or otherwise) the effort was, it is a waste of time?
Even if you don't get feedback from C.E., at least tell us that please.
From personal experience I cannot fault the (now-privatised) CEC Highways in the way they record faults. Absolutely 100% service record for, ummm recording faults. However they are not too quick to attend to those recorded faults. We are waiting for a street light fault, reported in June 2015, to receive any attention. I called, only yesterday, where a very polite lady apologised and explained that "quite a few other people" were reporting the same problem.
Frankly, we need to remember this next time there is an election.
maybe I was luckier with 'out' lights; I filled in an on-line form (on behalf of parishoners) and usually things got put right quite quickly.
Perhaps filling in the form allows one to 'jump' ahead of the telephonic reports?
in the car park of the park this a.m.
no-one about and so could see all the car park in one visual sweep; dumped rubbish all over the place.
might the P.C. councillor for parks please gee up C.E. to come and shift it?
and a happy new year to you all.
Why come on a public forum and ask a PC Councillor to report to CE that litter "happens?"
It's an unfortunate fact of life, as are the increasingly embittered moanings of former Councillors.
Ask not what your Village can do for you..........
I and many others regularly pick up the litter in the park, 'cos we are good people.
Go look in the car park now and debate with yourself as to whether you wish to touch the fly-tipped krap?
Ask not what your Council Tax can do for you ....................
The fact is - the car park at the entrance to the park is littered with all sorts of mess, there are numerous lights not working in the village, there are many drains blocked and its still a struggle to park.
To me that's the responsibility of the PC who we voted in, or CE. I don't care whats gone before is completely irrelevant.
Sadly, it'll probably be in the same state by next weekend.
There isn't sufficient money in the Council Tax budget to pay for the machine gun turrets that are so obviously required!
watch out for any condoms and/or needles; we'll miss you if you die !
Gaudete.
For the time being at least the area looks much better - hope you agree.
God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen.
The answer to your question is simple; Duncan Herald.
I walked through the Park's car park this a.m. Astonishment rooted me to the spot !
3 bin-bags and a piece of wooden furniture stacked neatly by the car park's bin; well done that man !
