Plans for 2015 Alderley Edge Remembrance Day Parade and Service

The Alderley Edge Remembrance Day parade and service will take place on Sunday, 8th November.

The parade will assemble outside the Festival Hall at 2.15pm and, led by the band, they will set off at 2.30pm.

The Deputy Lieutenant of Cheshire will be joined by members from the Royal British Legion, Alderley Edge Parish Council, clergy, Cheshire Police, British Red Cross, RVS and Wilmslow Lions. Local scouts, cubs, guides and brownies will also be taking part.

The parade will travel along Moss Lane, Trafford Road and Chapel Road before proceeding down London Road to the War Memorial on Ryleys Lane.

Following prayers and the wreath laying ceremony the parade will march back up London Road and Chapel Road to the Methodist Church for the Service of Remembrance which will commence at 3pm.

A two minutes silence, in honour of those who sacrificed their lives fighting for their country, will be observed outside Barclays Bank at 11am on Saturday, 7th November.

The following roads will be closed for a short period for the Remembrance Parade on Sunday, 8th November: Talbot Road (entire length), Moss Lane (Talbot Road to Trafford Road), Trafford Road (Moss Lane to Chapel Road), Chapel Road (Trafford Road to London Road), London Road (Macclesfield Road to Ryleys Lane), Ryleys Lane (Wilmslow Road to Church Lane), Heyes Lane (London Road to Trafford Road), Trafford Road (Heyes Lane to Stamford Road) and Stamford Road (entire length).
