Thirsty Thursday is a modern day woman's club which is open to all women, irrespective of their age or work status, and already has networks in Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool and Preston. On Thursday October 8th Thirsty Thursday Cheshire will launch with its first event at Gusto in Alderley Edge.

The aim of Thirsty Thursday Cheshire is to bring together the women of Cheshire using a bit of style and sophistication. On the 2nd Thursday of every month members will get together for a relaxed sociable event, with a different venue being booked each month. Louise Wood the host for Cheshire events explained that "Thirsty Thursday is a great way to extend both your social and professional network and many of our members also use our monthly social events as a regular date to meet up with existing friends".

Thirsty Thursday promise there will be no scary speeches or forced ‘networking’ instead the events are very informal. Louise told us "we have a fab night planned for the 8th, not only will there be the usual drinks and nibbles but mini manicures will also be available courtesy of Andrea Pickford".

Thirsty Thursday was set up over seven years ago by Emma James in Manchester as a way to ensure regular meet ups with friends and ex colleagues from the PR/marketing world. Emma describes Thirsty Thursday as a celebration of women and said "Quite simply we create opportunities for enjoyment, conversation, friendship and business. You can share knowledge with others and learn from the experiences of friends, colleagues and contacts".
