So we really think that someone who can buy and run a Lamborghini gives two hoots about a parking fine? Here we see proof from two owners that they clearly do not. Now they would think a little if they were clamped or lifted onto the back of a lorry.

My thoughts exactly, Martin. Parking fines should be 'banded' like council tax. It's not difficult to match the reg number with a make of vehicle and issue a pre-defined, value based fine.

I don't understand why there are double yellow lines there anyway... I'm sure someone will feel the need to educate me though ...

Hi Fraser,

It's pretty straightforward. If you have cars parked on both sides of the road you create a dangerous "pinch point" between Gusto and the Library with the A34 suddenly becoming a single lane road.

I've seen some pretty close near misses.

These two drivers are menaces, they forced past a queue of traffic and one of them (the blue one) nearly drove in to the side of me last week from the M60/A34 Gatley junction heading towards the Wilmslow-Handforth Bypass.
They won't care less about the fines.
All picked up on my in car dash cam, which the Police may be very interested in viewing.

I only wish Cheshire East had the money to remove these offenders to a car pound. I believe if there was rigorous enforcement the pick up vehicle would pay for itself. Then let us see how long this "I couldn't care less attitude" continues. It's not just the money it's the having to go and collect /pay in Widnes/Warrington (Example only) after the inconvenience of walking home !!

It's a bit of a broken windows approach, isn't it? If these sorts of misdemeanours are dealt with across the board in the same way, then it would soon stop. So a quick stop to collect a prescription, buy a newspaper or have lunch could see the owner's car lifted onto the back of the lorry and transported away.
Altho' the show-off actions of the drivers says that the owners are show-offs and like the idea of the illicit parking because - well, paying a small fine isn't a problem for them.

I see all this law breaking as latent opportunity to raise revenue for the depleted public purse and help pay towards public services and any surplus to go towards the welfare state instead of cutting disability benefits. From what I've witnessed Alderley Edge would be a very good contributor!

Davey Lane is having an "all day parking on double yellow lines" as well, the footpath is looking better though after I reported it to C/E

I'm thinking car pounds..create jobs, tow offending vehicles away (with obviously big fine to retrieve..) Parking tickets are peanuts to these drivers, they don't care, but i think they might if their precious commodity has disappeared on the back of a lorry...I've seen several cars parked illegally..ie outside the bubble room on glaringly obvious double yellows.....
