Fallen branch will be cleared after the weekend

A large branch has fallen from one of the oak trees very close to the children's play equipment in Alderley Edge Park.

Several people have been in touch today to let me know, including Councillor Craig Browne who said "I have now reported this to Cheshire East Council and it will receive attention after the weekend".

The police beat me to taping it off !

It's being sorted this afternoon (Sunday) by the experts.

Why are trees not pruned, as they should be? The amount of damage and chaos that fallen branches cause costs motorists and others money. There are many places where the branches from trees completely overhang roads; shutting out the light; and creating potential havoc to road users.

If AEPC take over the park - this sort of expense will fall on them.

@ Pauline Anderson: I think you might find that motorists cause far more havoc, damage and chaos than falling branches from trees do.

Was it really necessary to cut the whole tree down??
