Craig Browne, who was elected to represent the Alderley Edge Ward on Cheshire East Council, will be holding his first community surgery at the end of the month.
Residents are invited to go along to Aldeli on Wilmslow Road between 10am and 11am on Friday 29th May to speak to our newly elected councillor about any community issues that are affecting them, or to just join him for a coffee.
Craig told me "At the time of the election, I expressed my intention to be an open, approachable and friendly councillor, so I have decided to hold my first community surgery in a relaxed setting where residents can meet me and raise any issues they may have, over a cup of tea or coffee.
"Even in this day and age, not everyone has access to email, or is necessarily comfortable speaking to their local councillor over the telephone; also, I much prefer the personal, face-to-face approach. I very much hope that people will take advantage of this opportunity to come and talk with me."
Craig added "I hope that the community surgery will become a regular feature and for the time being my plan is to stick with 10am on the last Friday of each month. Moving forward, I might trial other times and venues, but for the time being I think Aldeli is a good option because the welcome is friendly and parking spaces are normally available."

I'm not being cynical or derogatory before anyone suggests it as I sincerely wish the the new council well and was pleased to see that the agreement on the Medical Centre has now gone ahead. Roll on next year and the grand opening of an historic initiative.
My next surgery will be Friday 26th June, from 10am at Aldeli.
