Cheshire East Council is set to reconsider the resident's parking scheme which was introduced in Clifton Street in November 2012.
Councillor Frank Keegan and some local businesses have been pushing for this to be looked at again and changed to a mixed use scheme for both residents and shoppers - because they feel it is having a detrimental effect on the retailers in the village.
Speaking at this week's Parish Council meeting, Cllr Keegan said "I've had a chat with David Topping and the Council are going to re-consult on Clifton Street.
"We shall get somewhere with the re-consultation and we must make sure that it includes all the businesses round about as well, and that it's also pointed out to the residents of Clifton Street that it's on a shared basis so that will have no impact on them because if they're there it cannot be used by other people."
Cllr Mike Williamson added "I have got a lot of photographs now to send to Councillor Topping, which I will do so he can use that as more ammunition for his consultation.
"It's clearly madness to have eight or nine vacant spaces during the day which nobody can use."
Cllr Keegan added "It will be a mixed scheme which will be very welcome and there's nothing for the residents to complain about."

He appears to miss the fact that many drivers already play "spot the traffic warden" making it hard enough already to park on Clifton Street, even with a parking permit much of the time. Traffic wardens don't police the bays after 5.30-6.00 and it is often impossible to park on Clifton Street up to the supposed cut-off time of 8.00pm.
