A new PCSO has taken over the Alderley Edge beat this month.
PCSO Sarah Stanley has taken over responsibility for Alderley Edge having spent seven years working in Lacey Green and Styal.
She has worked for Cheshire Constabulary since 2006. The first two years of her service were with the Special Constabulary, which encouraged her to join the Constabulary full-time. In May 2007 she joined the Wilmslow Neighbourhood Policing Team.
Having recently returned to work from maternity leave, Sarah has swapped roles with PCSO Jim Newns who worked in the village for the past three and a half years.
Speaking about her new job, Sarah said "I fancied doing something a bit different and the main shops on London Road attracted me to Alderley Edge. We don't have that in Lacey Green, it is just so different."
PCSO Stanley described parking as the biggest challenge she will face in Alderley Edge and said she is looking forward to "getting a general feel for the area and getting to know where everything is and who everybody is."
Jim Newns said "I felt as though I needed a change, I quite enjoy a change. This is the fourth beat area I have covered and I think I've spent the longest time in Alderley Edge so now is a good time to be moving on."
He added "It wasn't an easy decision though because you work closely with people in the community and make many friends. I will still be popping over though."

She'll find plenty to do with her time in Alderley Edge.
Sarah is a very 'bouncy' and outgoing person, clearly a 'people person'.
Sorry to say 'bye to Jim but glad to have Sarah on board.
We tried to make it clear to the police that we did not want to see Sarah dragged off to help out in Wilmslow, when 'they' were short!
