Summer production showcases pupils talent

The Key Stage 2 children of Alderley Edge Community Primary School have been working hard over the last few weeks busily putting the finishing touches to their summer production of "Alice" which was performed this week.

It was presented in the Senior School Hall at Alderley Edge School for Girls, enabling the Junior children to perform on a bigger stage as well as learn about stage craft, such as entrances and exits and stage left and stage right.

It showcased the amazing talent of the schools youngsters from mad hatters to lobsters and the performance certainly showed their vocal talent with musical numbers including the caucus race and beautiful soup!

Miss Melanie Rose who directed the performance said "We have unique talent within both the Staff and children who work cohesively to produce quality performances year on year, which aim to showcase the remarkable skills of our children."

Miss Rose continued "Each year we look to our Year 6 to direct us in terms of suitable shows. This year, with such a wealth of talent, Alice was ideal as it enabled lots of individuals to shine! The children worked really hard to learn lines, sing songs and dance some incredible dances. They are a credit to us all."
