Red Nose Day fun

Children donned their silliest hats, funny hair and brightest clothes on Friday and had great fun whilst raising funds for Comic Relief.

At Alderley Edge Community Primary School the children celebrated Red Nose Day by wearing bright clothes and taking part in a cupcake competition, whilst at The Ryleys all of the children and staff wore their silliest hats and made a donation to the charity. As a result they raised over £192.00.

Girls at Alderley Edge School for Girls sported their funniest hairstyles along with one item of red clothing and girls in Year 4 held a cake sale and competition to design a new hairstyle for Jessie J - which raised £150 for Comic Relief.

The following day a giant red nose wandered around the village, grabbing the attention of passers by and inviting people to 'Pick Your Nose' in return for a £2 donation.

Mitch Gilbert, chairman of the Alderley Edge Traders Group, created the huge nose using around 100 red balloons, some of which contained Comic Relief 'Nose with Toes' whilst others had prizes inside donated by local businesses.
