
As a result of a high voltage cable fault, power was cut to 1700 properties in Alderley Edge yesterday evening.
The power went off at 6.36pm, many customers were reconnected shortly after 7pm and power was restored to all homes and businesses by just after 10pm.
A spokesperson for Electricity North West, said: "There was a high voltage cable fault in Alderley Edge affecting 1,700 customers at 6.36pm last night. Engineers arrived on site and worked quickly to restore power to customers.
"Power was restored in stages with more than 870 customers restored within half an hour, 686 back on by 9.57pm and the remaining 138 customers were restored by 10.15pm.
"We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused and if you do experience any issues with your electricity please call our 24 hour free emergency line on 0800 195 4141."
This was the second power cut in three days for many residents, as the power was also cut for a short period on Friday morning.
