Sun shines on primary school fair

Alderley Edge Community Primary School hosted their annual Summer Fair on Friday evening, July 8th.

Following heavy rain earlier in the day, the skies cleared and the sun shone as families gathered on the school field for the Summer Fair and Barbecue which offered something for the whole family.

Headteacher, Mr Chris Perry said "Despite a forecast for torrential rain Friday's Summer Fair weather was almost perfect as was the event itself.

"The Fair was a real community evening and we were delighted that so many past pupils and parents joined the event along with present and future parents and children. The school field looked fantastic with a huge bouncy castle, inflatable slide as well as the usual BBQ, face painting, coconut and tombola stalls.

"I would like to thank Sue Pilkington, Chair of PTA, and the rest of the PTA for their hard work in preparing this annual event - without their support the Summer Fair would not have happened. I would also like to thank Karen Price from Barclays for her support and sponsorship of the event.

"Most of all I would like to thank the children and their families for coming along and making this such a memorable Summer Fair."

Update: I have just been informed that the Summer Fair made about £ 2,800 profit for the school.
